Pick a door...any door....

and write about it.

Bring the element of suspense around the door if you like...

Will your door be metaphorical or an actual doorway

into a real place or into a land of your imagination?

State of Confusion

It is really Wednesday, however your main character thinks it is Monday.  How did this happen and what are the consequences?

All I Want For Christmas

Were you good this year?  Did Santa bring you everything you wanted for Christmas?  Was there one special gift you were hoping for?  Write a little Flashy Fiction about whether you got that special gift or not, and, if not, why not.

Marley was dead to begin with. There is no doubt whatever about that.

ALL ABOUT EVE

There are plenty of "Eves" in our future. Christmas Eve and New Years Eve both loom largely in the next couple of weeks. But first we need to get past the "Eve of Destruction". Psychos (I mean psychics) worldwide and through the ages have deemed 12/21/2012 as the day of reckoning. But face it, we can't even predict the weather correctly half the time...

For the prompt, write about the night before a big day. What preparations are needed? What is anticipated? Narrow it down even further, write of the moments just before the featured event. And don't worry, if we get past tomorrow, it's not the end of the world!

Final Preparations

For your fiction today, let's assume the world is going to end in just two days.  What final tasks will your character(s) complete other than paying all the bills and taking out the trash.

Breaking Free

This past weekend saw the premiere of The Hobbit:  An Unexpected Journey, complete with a huge red dragon invading and taking up residence in a dwarven stronghold with a horde of gold.  Inspired by the dragon, this week's prompt is to write a bit of Flashy Fiction to describe a scene/story in which a chained dragon escapes.  Why was it chained?  Who had it chained?  How did it break free?  Everybody loves a good dragon tale...what's yours?

Do the opposite...

Normally, you expect to find monkeys holding bananas, right?  Not this time.  As you can see above, the banana has the monkeys.  So here's the thing - write something that is the opposite of everyone's expectations.

And have fun!  (I really mean that - and not the opposite.)

A Little Light Reading

It's the Christmas season, and colored lights shine everywhere. Today, flash us some fiction about light - holiday lights, city lights, the first light bulb, the sun...or someone whose light just refuses to stop shining. Share your piece in the comments here, leave the light on for us, and we'll be over soon.

Inspired by a Genius

"In his lecture at Einstein's memorial, nuclear physicist Robert Oppenheimer summarized his impression of him as a person: "He was almost wholly without sophistication and wholly without worldliness . . . There was always with him a wonderful purity at once childlike and profoundly stubborn, (wiki commons)."

Maybe write a dialogue with Einstein as a participant...or if you could ask Albert something what would it be...?

Use repetition in your writing today, or write about something that will never happen again in your lifetime, or incorporate numerology in your fiction today.  Have Fun !!!

The Fog Rolls In

Smoke on the water or the fog rolling in?  Is this just a cool photo op or is there something sinister bringing the fog to conceal its approach?  Write a little Flashy Fiction to dispel this fog and bring a little clarity to this situation.

For today, write about a reoccuring dream or a Deja Vu experience.

Snowfall in the City Gardens

Today's prompt takes us to a wonderful, snowy cityscape with a lone figure.  What city is this?  Who is the figure and why is he/she out in the snow?  Write a bit of Flashy Fiction based on what you see in this image.

Belated Sunday Sister

Just realized I missed yesterday's post. Sorry, gang. Life is more than a little crazy.

Okay, here's the deal...

You're LATELATELATE, for a very important date. Why are you late? And what are you late for? And what's the result? A disaster? Or maybe...destiny?

Write about it. And share here, sooner...or later. ;)
